Katskhi is   Svan word that means - top. Before Christian times, Katshis Sveti enters the pantheon of pagan deities and was chapel of the Georgian fertility Godhead. Post Ridge area is 150 square meters. At its extreme south - east corner is situated the church named Maximus the Confessor - small building built in IX-X centuries with integrated door in the north wall. On the north side of the church are built in broken stone two cells, here was also the winch by which the monks communicated with the outside world. On the western edge of the column is a eight pitcher wine cellar where probably wine and water was stored. On the western side of the cellar in the vertical cliff the second cell was carved.
On the area below the column was built a small one-nave church of St. Simeon Mesvete.
